Update Update Wor!!!

Got on the plane in the evening of Sunday, 6 September 2009, to a destination call Perth. A place that I long wanted to go, a place that make me cried for many night many years ago, a place where my boi spend his university life. I am so curious on this place. This trip will allow me to go and live a life my boi used to live, go to places that he went during his free time. In this 5 days 5 nights holiday, I am going to visit all the places that my boi had been to, eat all the food he thinks that it is good in this foreign place.

We reached Perth International Airport about 2330. Knowing that the Australian Custom is very particular on the items that we brought in, we decided to declare one very important item we brought, and that is the Milo. Even though Milo is also available in Perth, the milk content in the mixture is higher. So we prefer to bring our Singapore version. The lady check on the ingredients of the 3-in-1 Milo and allow us to bring it in. (lucky us!! I cant live without it) If you know me, you will know.

After passing through the custom, Alwyn went to a "restaurant" to packet supper for us. If I am not wrong, the "restaurant" should call the RED ROOSTER. Then we went to the taxi stand to get a taxi that can fit in 5 of us. WARNING!!! The meter in taxi travel in a high speed like 10 cents for every wipe from the wipper. So by the time we reached the hotel for the night, the fare is about AUD 40 plus.

For the 1
st night, we choose a hotel that is cheaper and near the point to pick up our rented car the next morning. The hotel is Goodearth Hotel that is located along Adelaide Terrace. The room given to us is clean but we dont like the layout of the bathroom, it just seems too long. But the location of the hotel is very good, it is very near the car rental outlet; Bayswater Car Rental; which is just opposite the street.

Before we start travelling to our next destination which will take us about 3 hours to reach, we went to a supermarket to purchase grocery that is needed for the next 2 days. The supermarket is Coles which is like a combination of Cold Storage and Giant, it has everything from food to apparel to housewares.

Items bought: Milk, bread, fruit juices, socks, sleep wear, garlic prawns, sausages, instant noodles, crackers, sweets, cereals, drinks, cooking oil, butter, washing powder, garlic bread, mash potatoes, etc
(The above items bought is for the supp
ly of breakfast and dinner for the next 2 days)

After 3 hours drive, we finally reached our destination, Margaret River. This place is well known to tourist to explore its natural view and also the farms and wineries. We have booked our accommodation in Margaret River through its official website where a list of hotels and motels are provided. From the reviews from the website and also the photos provided through the website, we decided to choose Vintage Accommodation. This is a motel run by a couple with a few rooms only. The unit that is given to us has a dry kitchen, one bedroom and a bathroom.

A queen sized bed is located in the main hall, and next to it is the dinning area.
Along the corridor path to the bathroom is the dry kitchen equipped with a
microwave, boiling kettle and a basin.

There is another room with a single sized bed and a king sized bed. The place is very clean and well kept. The only thing that can be improve is to prove a stove. This is because at Margaret River there isn't much shops open at night, most of the shops closed at 6pm daily. So you have can only prepare your own food or order from the hotel or motel.

By the time we got to unpack our stuff and had our lunch that we packet near the Coles it is already 4 plus, and most of the places around closed at 5pm to 6pm. So we just chose one place to go. The place we went is The Berry Farm. We thought that we can enter into the farm to pluck berries but we were wrong. There isn't' any berries for us to pluck and the cafe has already closed for the day. We are only allowed into The Berry Farm shop, that sells various berries jams and wine. My sis bought a few jars and they are very nice. It is very fresh and you can actually feel the seeds when you eat it. Will recommend anyone to visit this place, but please be early to try on the food serve at the cafe.

Along the way back to the town of Margaret River there is a lot of spots that will make you have the urge to stop your car and enjoy the view of the open field, some may even have sheep and cows on the field.

We decide
d to stroll along the street of the town and see what is still available. We manage to found this "Old Lollipop Shop" that have various types of sweets but don't have the jelly beans that I am looking for Carol. After we came back to Singapore, we found out that the quality of the sweets sold in this shop is actually much better than other shops we went to.

Before heading back to our motel, we went to order a pizza to add into our dinner menu for the day. This is a shot we taken outside the shop while waiting for our pizza. -_<

Here is the cook for the night, Miss Seah and Mdm Seah. The menu for the night is Pizza, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Campbell Mushroom Soup, Butter Garlic Prawn with Broccoli and Garlic Bread. Yum Yum =P

Homework time for Chery.
