Today is 10th September 2009 (Rainy). My brother- in- law (BIL) woke up early to make breakfast for all of us. Thanks to the hotel's stove, my BIL prepared our favourite, sunny side up, sausages and bacon. Last but not the least, my favourite Milo too. Lol >.< even my breakfast is smiling. =)
After a heavy breakfast, we wash up and head to our destination, Caversham Wildlife Park. It is about half an hour to an hour drive, near perth city but not very near. Along the way, I saw this traffic light. A very special one that cannot be found in Singapore. The special thing about this traffic light is the left portion for bicycle. Cute right?

The main entrance of the park. We need to go into the shop to buy entrance tickets for about AUD 20 plus for adults as for children (erm.......... I forgotten about the price)

This is the first "animal" I saw in the wildlife park, the white bird.

The rain kept come and go. We walk a few steps and the sky started to rain, so we get shelter under the tree to wait for it to stop. The waiting time is about 5 minutes, then we continue the journey for about 10 minutes, the rain comes again. Hai~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Photo taken while waiting for the rain. I am waiting and so is the peacock behind me. Another photo with the bird (so scare it will run over)

The really first animal we saw in the park is the Kangaroo. There is actually this big enclosed area for the Kangaroos for they to run about and lazed around. We got to know that the baby kangaroo will stay in the mum's pouch for about 8 months and will stay by the mother's side for about 2 years.
This baby seems like searching for something inside. Toys? Food?

They are harmless but some just don't let you touch them. Luckily we found one that is friendly. They are so like soft toys, so want to hug them tightly Lol
Boi found a big bin with lots of food for the kangaroos. It is all dry food, just like what my dog is eating. It is actually no smell but when you got it out from the bin, a lot of them will just crowd around you to ask for food. In this photo, the kangaroo is impatient for the food so he/she climb on my body. I think the OS he got is "come on, give me some food, give me lots of food, faster"
Oh ya, the bin cover has a spring attached to it. This is to prevent the kangaroos to get the food by themselves. By the way, the food for the kangaroos are free. I took a few close up with them, isn't them cute.

Here I intro, this is wombat. Don't see him fat fat, he can run 40km per hour.
They have a few time slots to bring the wombat out for photo shooting. He is just like a big soft toy to me.

And this is the tasmania devil, look very different from the one at Warner Bros.

This sleepy fellow is the weasel. We are not allow to carry him because he is a meat eater, meaning will be a bit violent. The keeper afraid that he might hurt us. The keeper tried to bring him out for photo shooting but the weasel is very tired already, I think he is affected by the weather. So no choice la, we have to take his picture in the keeper's jacket.
There is a small farm in the wildlife park for farm animals. Food for the animals are also provided in the shed for us to feed them. We spend a long while in the farm to wait for the rain to stop and taking the time we had, we know a couple of them quite well.
First, I want to intro my best friend in the wildlife park, Pepper. Pepper is a pig aka sore. The keeper in the farm had told us Pepper gave birth to 12 piglets a year ago and the piglets are given away to other parks. Even though the piglets are given away so long time ago, Pepper is very careful when she stand up or sit down. To her, she thinks that the piglets are still with her. I find it very sad when I heard this, so pity her.
She has very good smell. When we throw dried food to her, she can actually smell in out from the soil. And I can prove that pig is not a stupid animal, they are actually very clever. When we call out her name, she actually respond to you by a "oink"
Next will be the donkey. I don't know his gender, but I call it a he. He is very cute when his mouth is closed but when he open it, oh my god, his mouth is so big lo. Then the teeth is stuck with all the vegetables he ate. Eeeeeeeee!!!!!
The way to feed this donkey is to throw the food into his mouth. It seems like playing some games in the fair. hahaha

The keeper went to carry a lamb to show us. This baby is so cute. When I was carrying him, I feel like I am actually carrying a soft toy because the fur is so soft.
The way it look at the camera, it seems like it is smiling to the camera. Cheesez!!!
Last but not the least, the sheep. We are being told that one of the sheep's eye is blind. Therefore when he eats, he will tilt his head sideway in order to see the food.
Finally reach the final destination of the park to meet the very special species of bear, the Kola Bear. It's chinese name is "Wu Wei Xiong" meaning the Bear without a tail. We have stayed in the cage of theirs for quite a long time because it is raining heavily outside. We took the time we had and took a lot of pictures with them but most of the time they are asleep. Even if they are awake, it is just for awhile.
For example: woke up > yawn > sleep OR woke up > climb to another branch (about 5 steps away) > sleep
We are told not to touch them with our palm, but by using the back of the hand. This is to avoid the oil we produce to stick to their fur. We are also not allowed to carry them as this will shorten their lives by 5 years.

Before we leave the park, we went to the restroom to release ourselves and also to wash our hands. My sis noted the signs on the restroom doors are very interesting. The signs provided is not only in human forms but also in animals. From the first one on the left, is a mouse with a lady hat. Next to it is the gentleman with a hat.

This is a mouse on the wheelchair.
Picture taken outside the park, on the way to the carpark.
Picture of our lunch.
Items: chicken rice, tom yam soup, fried rice, Yeo's drinks.
Second stop of the day. We went to the city of Perth to do some window shopping. Not a nice weather to shop because the place is not fully sheltered, the rain keeps come and go.

My sis didn't feel very well in the evening. So sis, my bil and my cousin went back to the hotel for a rest while boi and I went to packet dinner back. We didn't had the dinner after we got back the hotel, instead we went out for shopping at the suburb. No photos were taken; reason: heavy rain, too busy shopping, and tired.
We had Boost at the suburb, the price is about AUD 5.00 to AUD 6.00 which I find it slightly cheaper than the Boost in Singapore. The Boost at Perth is like the bubble here, it seems like very cheap and everyone has a cup in their hands.
After shopping, we went to back hotel for our Roast Duck Rice Dinner. Yum Yum

Then have to wait for the clock to strikes twelve.
Dong! Dong! Dong! It is 11th September.
Today is my BIL's birthday, boi secretly bought a cake for him from Miss Maud.

We sing the birthday song.
BIL make a wish.
BIL cut cake.
We ate the cake.
Bom! We laid on our bed and went to our dream...........................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
