Bye Bye Margaret River.....................

Today's schedule : Heading to Perth City

Before we start the journey to Perth City, we have planned to visit a few places along the way. The places that we are about to go are compulsory places, MUST go places.









Location Number One: Sunflowers Farm
It is a farm without sunflower (wondering how it got its name), but full of animals.They actually have rooms for family and friends to stay over, something like the chalet we had in Singapore or far far away from it. Call it the chalet with animals. We did not stay at Sunflowers Farm because we are afraid that the animal smell is too strong. lol







Once we have parked the car and alight, a very big white dog will come and bark at us. It seems like asking us to follow him, so we did what we think that it wants. The dog will lead us to the counter to purchase the entrance tickets to the farm. He is so clever, he seems to be the BIG BOSS of the farm.hahaha

















After which we are told that we can buy bucket of food (carrots, seeds, cabbage, wheat bread) @ AUD 5.00. We bought 2 in the beginning but found that it is not enough for 5 people to go round the farm, especially we want to take photos with the animals when feeding them. It seems like 5 kids in the farm rather than 4 adults and 1 kid.



















So excited in catching the rabbits in their cage, we are not allow to run inside the cage because it is full of holes dug by them. (Must use tactic)











I am so clever, I have got one here






Ten in the morning is the time for the baby lambs' breakfast. We are allow to feed the babies milk in plastic bottles. (It is FOC)

They seems very hungry even though they have another feeding time in the evening and there is actually a big bag of grass hang at the side of the fence for them, seems like their snacks and milk is the main meals.





Here come my fellow friends. The one on the left is the mother pig and the picture on the right is the babies. There is actually another pig which is the boar. Don't like him lo........ He is the big bully there. When I want to feed the piglets, he will come over and chase the piglets away. In order to take the picture on the right, we have actually another person at the other side feeding the boar. Hai~~~~~~~












The ostrich, lamb and the horse are neighbors. The lamb and the ostrich stay in the same field while the horse it separated by the fences.

The lamb and the horse is very gentle animals. They will just lick the food off your hand, very tickle but fun.

As for the ostrich, it actually pecks the food directly from the bucket. It pecks so hardly that it will make you move along with it. hahaha (dock dock sound is made)

















The baby kangaroo is so cute











There is a pony in the farm, not very sure whether is it for riding. Since the weight of mine is ......................., we decided not to raise this question to the farm. heheehe

This is a scene I like to share. I so like to pass by a path with rows of very tall trees by the side. I find it so peaceful and romantic. How I wish my wedding photo can have such a scene. hehe

Location Number Two : Simmo's Iceceam
Today we will be naughty, very naughty. We decided to have ice-cream for lunch. hahaha shiok man!!! Simmo's Ice-Cream is very popular in Perth or Margaret River. So we decided to pay a visit.

They have a lot of flavors and some are very special flavors, so hard to choose what to have. Actually I already forgotten what flavor I actually had. We ordered 3 set of waffles with ice-cream. It is delicious, that is the only thing I remembered. hahaha














Location Number Three: Busselton Jetty

The jetty is a place between the city and Margaret River. A very nice place to visit. The breeze is very nice with the company of the Sun. The jetty has a very long pavement and there is this house at the end of the jetty. From the website, we know that the house has a basement that allow us to see the life under the sea. The only regret is due to wear and tear, the pavement is actually broken and is under repair. So this is the furthest we can go. You can see in the middle of the picture, there is a small hump. That is the house we suppose to go.





Can't let this trip be wasted, must take a few more photos since we are not able to get to the end of the jetty. Cheese











The wind is so strong...............






The lady boss of the Vintages Accommodation told us that there is a restaurant at Busselton Jetty that serve very good food. So we decided to go for a try. From the way the restaurant is renovated or presented, we know that this is a restaurant that not only serve good food and the price of the food is "good" too. We ordered the seafood chowder, fish and chips and another dish which I had forgotten what is it. (old already, cannot remember so well) The food is good and so does the price. Just 3 dishes, cost us AUD 80.00 plus if I am not wrong.













The fireplace is actually real, not for look only. This is the only time my jacket is off my shoulder when I am outside. This proves that how warm the place can be.

Location Number Four: Medina Executive Barrack Plaza

I will recommend my friends this hotel if they are coming to Perth. This hotel is just around the corner of the city. There is a row of shops opposite the hotel that will lead you all the way to the heart of the city.

The hotel is very clean, bright and spacious. We stay at the second floor and we didn't hear any noise from downstairs.













The picture on the left is the master bedroom and the one on the right is the second bedroom. Both room have 2 single sized bed and we join them together. The master bedroom has a television and a bathroom. There is another bathroom at the living room which has a washing machine and a dryer. I can say that the unit we got is fully equipped with everything we need.
















After unpacking the stuff in the hotel, we set out for dinner. The weather is damm cold after the rain. We went for dinner at Swish & Chips. The fish is delicious, the flour is not thick and the fish is very juicy.

After the dinner, we went to pay a visit at boi's home stay while he is studying in Perth. Boi bought a bottle of red wine for the uncle and the auntie offered us melon and tea while we sit in the living room to warm ourselves up with the electrical heater.
We chat with the aunt and uncle and went for a home tour around the house.

Got to know from uncle that they actually bought the land then built the house according to their requirements, so envy. In Singapore, we only get to stay in HDB flats built by the board.

After the visit, we went back to the hotel for a good nite rest. Tomorrow we will be going to the suburb and wildlife park.

Perth - Margaret River

We woke up very early around seven plus and start preparing for breakfast. Then set off to our first location, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. This is a place where you can see the Indian Ocean and Southern Ocean meets. We are being told that if you are in luck, you can actually see whales around the corner or by using the binoculars. Because it is very near the oceans, the speed of the wind is high, it makes you use a lot of energy to walk near the lighthouse. And even though the sun is very bright the weather is very cooling, especially with company of the wind. We really like this place and will recommend friends this "must visit" attraction in Perth.






















The next place we went is the Jewel Cave. There are 3 caves along Margaret River; Jewel Cave, Mammoth Cave and Lake Cave. We only visited one cave due to the time we had, therefore we decided to choose Jewel Cave. The reason is because Jewel Cave is known to be the largest cave in Perth and it is the most beautiful cave among all.

We were supposed to buy admission tickets to the cave (AUD 19.50). This amount comprises of the entrance fee and also a guide who will bring us around the cave and explain different types of jewel formed. The jewel is told to be hard from the surface but it is quiet weak inside. (I think this is because the jewel is somehow form from crystallization of mineral water flowing from the top due to rainfall). There is only one door to enter the cave and also using the same door to exit. Only the pathway near the entrance has lights on the floor to guide you and allow you to see your steps and the rest of the cave is in total darkness.

There is a few stations in the cave that we stops to take photos and admire the beautiful jewels. We are not advisable to take photos while walking to the next station. And I feel that the photos will look better if you take the pictures without flashes. But due to there is not sufficient light in the cave, the photos can only be taken properly when the tour guide is explaining the jewels by pointing her torch to the wall. That will be the best time to take the pictures.












After Jewel Cave, it is time for lunch. My Boi told us that his boss had mentioned the food serve at the wineries restaurant is very delicious, so we decided to go for a try. The one we had chosen is The Watershed. Before we reach the winery, we pass by a field of cows having their lunch too. We stopped by the road side and took photos of them. In the beginning, there is only two or three of them but when we are taking their photos, more of them just crowd over. It seems like they are also very curious about us or they just want to be in the picture too?? I heard that there is a say "cow' brain is very small", it means their thinking is very simple. So I think curious seems more like them.


Finally we reach Watershed!!! It is a very peaceful place for lunch. In front of the restaurant, there is a big field full of branches waiting for the grapes to grow. The restaurant is surrounded with full length glass windows and door that allow you to have a wide view of the surroundings. We actually spotted a kangaroo in the field stealing the buds of the grapes to eat, seems like they are having buffet. So shiok!!!



We waited quite long for the food to be served, meanwhile, we took a lot of photos. Photos taken inside the restaurant, then we went outside and continue shooting. Then the food started to come in one by one. We became very busy tasting one another dish and found that all the dishes we had order is very DELICIOUS. Resulting: No photos is taken. (so sorry) The portion of the main courses are quite little, will be enough for small eater but for man..................(not enough) The only picture we took is the desert which I find it very rich, maybe 4 persons can share one.


The price is quite reasonable. The main course is about AUD 20.00 to AUD 30.00 plus, difference between meat and seafood. The wine is at reasonable price too, it is about AUD 5.00 to AUD 6.00 per glass or around AUD 20.00 per bottle. If you like the wine, you can actually buy it at their shop (tasting is available).

The service of the waitress is very good. They are very attentive and there is always a smile on their face. They will get ready color pencil and drawings for the kid to get busy with. I find this very good even though my cousin is already ten but she still enjoy it very much.






















Tummy full full, Time for shop shop. From now onwards, everything is shopping.

First Stop: MARGARET RIVER CHOCOLATE FACTORY
It is a very interesting place for us to get gifts for friends and relatives. There is 3 big bowls placed at the counter with a teaspoon in each of it. Guess what is in the bowls. Answer: MILK CHOCOLATE, DARK CHOCOLATE, WHITE CHOCOLATE. These are for tasting, from there at least you know what you will be getting. They have packets with chocolates in small pieces, or chocolate with different texture or nuts or even fruits. The mixture is AUD12.50 per packet for about 250 grams.





Second Stop: NUTS AND CEREALS
We just happen to pass by this very quiet place. If we don't have nuts maniac in our groups, we might not notice this place. They have nuts, cereals and cookies. A small shop with simple things, and we actually bought quite a lot here. Reason: The price is reasonable and the lady at the shop is very friendly and had our doubts all cleared.

Third Stop: CANDY COW
We are attracted to this place by the cartoon of the cow and the pink decoration. The whole shop is full of candies from lollipops, sugar powder, honey crunch, etc

I didn't buy anything here but my sis and cousin seem like having a good harvest in this shop. (for friends, classmates, tuition friends, colleagues, etc

By the way, they actually have some demonstration on making of candies at certain time. So if you wish to visit Candy Cow, you may want to plan your time properly. If not wrong, the time should be at 11:00 am














The last stop for the day is Coles. We stop by to see if there is anything we can add to our dinner menu, we must have a very fabulous dinner as it is the last night at Margaret River. When we left Coles, we found these trolleys at the pavement. These trolleys are not ordinary trolleys that we can find in Singapore, these trolleys actually show how making of babies are encourage.


Trolley Number One:
This is a very big trolley that has seats for the twins babies.









Trolley Number Two:
When the twin babies had grown bigger.













Trolley Number Three:
When the twins had grown up to toddlers, and yet you have another child after the twins.





We had a very heavy dinner as we were very hungry and also we need to clear up all the food that we had bought. The next day we will be heading down to the city and we will not be doing any more cooking, or maybe just for breakfast.

I actually not feeling very well that night, I think is cause by the strong wind. I felt like I was about to have fever and cold, so my nurse sis gave me panadol to prevent it from coming. That night I was like a baby, my sis was serving me my favourite Milo. So shiok!!!!!!!
